శ్రీ ఘనకోట వెంకట శాస్త్రి గారు కాకతీయ విశ్వవిద్యాలయములో రసాయన శాస్త్ర ఆచార్యులు (ప్రొఫెసర్). వీరు M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., PDF (UK) పట్టభద్రులు. ఘనకోట రామచంద్రశాస్త్రి మరియు సీతారామమ్మ దంపతుల కుమారుడైన వీరి కుటుంబము సంస్కార సంపన్నము. సంస్కృత భాష మరియు కర్ణాటక సంగీతములపై మక్కువ కలిగిన శాస్త్రిగారు పరమ భాగవతులు. వీరికి భాగవత శ్రవణ, భగవత్కీర్తన, గోసంరక్షణలు అత్యంత ప్రీతిపాత్రములు. ఘటకేసర్లో శ్రీకృష్ణాశ్రమమును, చల్లూరులో గోశాలను నిర్మించి నిర్వహిస్తున్నారు.

Prof. Ghanakota Venkata Sastry is a Professor of Chemistry at Kakatiya University, Warangal, and holds M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., and PDF (UK) degrees. Born to Sri Ghanakota Ramachandra Sastry and Smt. Seetaramamma, he comes from a cultured family with a deep love for the Sanskrit language and Carnatic music. A devoted bhakta of Lord Krishna, he cherishes Bhagavata shravana (hearing), Bhagavat-kirtana, and the protection of cows. He established Sri Krishna Ashram in Ghatkesar and a goshala (cow shelter) in Challur, and maintains them as part of his daily life.

రచనా ప్రయాణముWriting journey

వృత్తిరీత్యా శాస్త్రజ్ఞులైన శాస్త్రిగారు వైజ్ఞానిక దృక్పథముతో శ్రీమద్భాగవతమును పరిశీలించి, దానిలోని 18,000 శ్లోకములను తాత్పర్య, భావదృష్టితో విశ్లేషించి "శ్రీహరి-హృదయము" అను మహాగ్రంథమును తెలుగులో రచించారు. నేటి తరము అన్ని విషయములకు శాస్త్రీయ వివరణ కోరుతున్నదని గుర్తించి, ప్రతి విషయమునకు సంబంధిత శ్లోకములను ఉదాహరించుచు శాస్త్రీయ సాక్ష్యములతో సహా వివరించారు. భగవద్గీతను పద-పదార్థ సహితముగా, శ్లోక తాత్పర్యములతో సామాన్య ప్రజలకు అర్థమయ్యే విధముగా రచించారు. తమ గ్రంథములలో చర్చించిన విషయములు ఏవైననూ అర్థము కాకున్న వారికి ఉచితముగా నేర్చుకొనవచ్చునని విన్నవించారు.

A scientist by profession, Prof. Sastry approaches Srimad Bhagavatam from a scientific perspective. He analysed all 18,000 shlokas of the Bhagavatam for their meaning and inner essence, and authored the monumental Telugu work "Srihari-hrudayamu". Recognising that the present generation asks for scientific explanations for everything, he quotes the relevant shlokas alongside his explanations and offers proof from a scientific angle. He has also rendered the Bhagavad Gita with word-to-word meanings and shloka explanations, so that common people can understand it, and offers free guidance to those who find any topic in his books difficult to grasp.
